WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 () -- A special seminar is scheduled this month to examine the benefits of a continuous diagnostics and mitigation program to reduce cybersecurity risks. The half-day seminar Oct. 29 in McLean, Va., is hosted by The Chertoff Group and will feature cybersecurity experts from government and industry."We are currently seeing a shift within federal government where agencies and departments are moving from an incredibly time intensive, periodic security audit to a more automated process known as CDM," said Michael Chertoff, chairman of The Chertoff Group and former secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security."This event series is intended to identify how the federal government plans to implement CDM, the cultural and technical changes it will require, where lessons can be learned across the public and private sector, and how we can better connect cybersecurity investments to business operations and the mission at hand." Topics of discussion include the status of the Department of Homeland Security's CDM program, federal agencies which have adopted the program and their experiences,True Religion Discount, and the technical considerations for such a program.
