Turkey to develop own radar system
NEWTOWN, Conn., Aug. 21 () -- The Turkish government has contracted defense company Aselsan to design,[url=http://www.yubikeys.net/]true religion sale[/url], develop and produce a multi-mission phased-array radar.The radar, known as CAFRAD Faz-1, is expected to be similar to the ALPHA M-2258 phased-array naval radar developed by Israel Aerospace Industries and Israel's Elta company, market research and analysis firm Forecast International reported."A project like the CAFRAD Faz-1 is quite ambitious for Aselsan, which is undertaking for the first time the development of such a complex radar,[url=http://www.chronotime.net/]louboutin outlet[/url]," Forecast International said. "Regardless of any potential shortcomings in technological advancements during the developmental process, Aselsan is still optimistic that it will meet a timetable for delivery completions between 2014 and 2018."Aselsan has partnered with the state scientific research institute Tubitak on the project, which will initially involve development of an illumination radar and a non-rotating identification friend or foe system.Second phase development will involve development of long-range surveillance and multi-functional radars, Forecast International said.
