EDA Rhinos of Taiwan say Manny Ramirez is leaving
TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 19 () -- Former Major League Baseball slugger Manny Ramirez is leaving the EDA Rhinos in Taiwan, the team says. In a statement released Tuesday, Rhinos management thanked Ramirez "for what he has brought to us and to the prosperity for baseball in Taiwan,[url=http://www.jdebug.net]Jimmy Choo Sale[/url]," ESPN reported. The team said it regretted his decision.Ramirez, born in the Dominican Republic, spent 19 years in the Majors, putting in seven years each with the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox, followed by shorter stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. He had an overall batting average of .312 and hit 555 home runs but also got caught up in baseball's steroid scandal. During his 49 games with the Rhinos, Ramirez hit .352, with 43 RBIs and eight home runs, the Taipei Times said. The Times said there are rumors Ramirez is being courted by Japanese teams.
