Silver Falls State Park to Silverton Reservior,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Silver Creek drains Silver Falls State Park and the Cascade foothills to the east. The many falls in the park drop over 15 million year old (Miocene) flood basalts from eastern Oregon and Washington. Mountain building in the area has since raised the basalt higher than its original elevation. The run is characterized by falls,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], steep blind ledges,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and gorges. It is mostly pool drop with one rapid that is long and continuous. The put-in is a 1.1-mile downhill hike to the foot of Lower North Falls on the North Fork of Silver Creek. The base of Lower North Falls introduces 0.75 mile of pleasant small ledges and rapids before you reach the confluence with the South Fork. Logs may require portage in this section. The first large drop after the confluence is Crag Falls,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a wide diagonal 10-foot ledge drop preceded by a 150-footlong shallow,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ledgy slide on river left. Crag Falls can be scouted on the left from the slack water at its top. Character: deep forested canyon.
