Fielder's two-run double in 14th lifts Detroit over Indians 6-5
CLEVELAND, Aug. 7 () -- Prince Fielder doubled home two runs in the 14th inning Wednesday and Detroit held on to win its 11th straight, 6-5 over Cleveland.The Tigers have captured the first three games of the four-game series between the top two teams in the American League Central. Those three victories have built Detroit's lead to six games over the Indians.Detroit came from a run down to take a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning on a two-run homer by Miguel Cabrera. The Indians tied it in the bottom half of the frame on a run-scoring ground out by Yan Gomes and it remained a 4-4 contest until the 14th.Austin Jackson opened the 14th with a double off Bryan Shaw (2-3) and,[url=http://www.panyam.com/]gucci outlet store[/url], one out later, Hernan Perez drew a walk. That brought up Fielder, who delivered both runners with a double to left against Matt Rzepczynski.The Indians threatened to extend the game in the bottom of the 14th when Michael Bjorn doubled in Mike Aviles with two out and then reached third on a wild pitch by Joaquin Benoit.Benoit, however, struck out Drew Stubbs to end the game and collect his 14th save. The win went to Jeremy Bonderman (2-3), who allowed one hit in three relief innings.
