On January 7,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 2011,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Lewiston Mayor Larry Gilbert,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Young Professionals of Lewiston-Auburn Area (YPLAA) "Community Involvement Award" winner Matt Gutshall kicked off a two-day visit to Lewiston High School to meet with Michelle Crowley government classes.
/>The visits were in regard to a national "JFK 50th: Mayors Ask What Youth Can Do" initiative sponsored by the United States Conference of Mayors the Harvard Institute of Politics in observance of former President Kennedy Inaugural speech his national call to service in 1961.
/>Throughout January,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], numerous municipalities will be participating with their respective Mayor and a local young civic leader visiting middle or high school classrooms. The mural is a gift to the City for hosting the Rotary District 7790 Annual Conference last May. Two youth from the 2010 - 2011 Maine Youth Exchange year were present - representing Brazil Taiwan!

September 24,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 2010 Lewiston Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sr.,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Auburn Mayor Richard Gleason hosted a Twin Cities press conference this morning in support of The Green Sneakers Project. Volunteers are needed for the effort; those interested in providing this type of community outreach may call 939-2634 to sign up or at either the Lewiston or Auburn Public Libraries.

On September 2nd, 2010 Lewiston Mayor Larry Gilbert,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Auburn Mayor Dick Gleason hosted--along with the LA Transit Committee--a Citylink bus tour through LA. The tour highlighted various projects in LA made possible by monies from the American Recovery Reinvestment Act.
