Hillary Clinton miniseries a no-go at Fox
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 16 () -- Fox Television Studios will not produce a miniseries about former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for NBC-TV, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.NBC announced plans this summer to air a 4-hour miniseries on the former U.S. senator from New York who was U.S. first lady from 1993-2001. The announcement provoked an outcry among conservative Republicans, who said it would be tantamount to a commercial for Clinton as she considers whether to run for president in 2016.The Republican National Committee voted unanimously in Boston Friday to end its partnership with NBC News and CNN for the 2016 GOP presidential primary debates unless NBC dropped plans for the miniseries and CNN pulled the plug on a planned documentary about Clinton.Media reports published last week said Fox,[url=http://www.moncleroutleto.co.uk]moncler uk[/url], a conglomerate which is also the home of the conservative Fox News Channel, was considering producing the Clinton miniseries, to be written and directed by Courtney Hunt,[url=http://www.moncleroutleto.co.uk]moncler sale[/url], for NBC.Diane Lane was to play Clinton.However, a Fox source told the Reporter Friday negotiations have fallen apart and Fox is no longer considering producing the miniseries for NBC.The source said the deal fell apart more over deal points than potential political fallout.
