Hockey Canada announced Saturday that the young Canadians will wear green jerseys for some games during the IIHF world junior hockey championship in Regina and Saskatoon,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Dec. 26 to Jan. Lions game in Regina. The Canadian team has traditionally worn red-and-white uniforms.
"Green is the colour and hockey is the game,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," says Scott Smith,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], chief operating officer of Hockey Canada.
"It's exciting to release a special version of the Hockey Canada jersey,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Smith said. "We believe fans in Saskatchewan and throughout Canada will rally around the green jerseys prior to and during the 2010 IIHF world junior championship."
