Fashion dash for award winners Gold Coast Events
JUDY Brine rushed out to buy a new dress before she headed to the races on Saturday, while Dr Michael Wright decided to buy a new hat that morning as well.
The mad fashion dash translated into more than $60,000 in prizes for the two Gold Coasters, who won this year prestigious Magic Millions fashion awards.
Judy, a fundraiser and horse lover from Budd Beach, was crowned the Paspaley Best Dressed of the Carnival,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], winning $40,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],365 in prizes: $16,140 of Paspaley Pearl jewellery, $10,000 in Qantas business-class air tickets, $5000 to spend at Robina Town Centre new fashion mall, $5000 of Louis Vuitton accessories, a $1100 Ruffles Lodge and Spa package,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a $1000 Conrad Jupiters weekend package,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and a $125 bottle of Pol Roger champagne.

Judy was selected as a finalist in the awards last Monday at the Women In Racing luncheon held at the Sheraton Mirage. She wore an Alice McCall dress with YSL shoes, Portmans gloves and a hat and necklace from David Jones.
Dr Wright, president of General Practice Gold Coast,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], took the title of Bang and Olufsen Best Dressed Gentleman of the Carnival, for a three-piece suit he wore to The International Emporium at the Gold Coast Turf Club.
His $21,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],225 in prizes includes $12,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],000 of Bang and Olufsen audio visual equipment, a $2000 Bruce Lynton BMW escape package, a $3000 shopping spree at Robina Town Centre,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], $2000 of Louis Vuitton accessories, a $1100 Ruffles Lodge and Spa package, a $1000 Neicon Developments luxury weekend, and a $125 bottle of Pol Roger champagne.
"I absolutely love pearls and I don own any from Paspaley, so I am so delighted with my prizes -- I think I might use the air tickets to go shopping in Paris,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," laughed Mrs Brine,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fundraising officer for Arundel Park Riding For The Disabled.
Dr Wright,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], of Surfers Paradise,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wore a tailor-made suit and shirt from Thailand, with a Givenchy tie, Prada shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a belt from Dubai, and a hat from Hats By The Hundred.
"I thought if women can walk around in skimpy dresses in the middle of winter up here,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then I can make the effort and sweat it out in a three-piece suit in the middle of summer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Dr Wright.
