Best of luck to the First team who play St Sylvester's in Rolestown this Sunday at 3pm in the first round of the Intermediate Championship. Well done to Cathal Flynn and the Dublin Minor football team who beat Carlow in the first round of the Leinster Minor FC last Saturday in Dr Cullen Park. Congrats to the St Peters U-12 and Minor teams who both won their matches at the weekend. The U-16 girls team had mixed results,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], winning one match and losing one match last week. Hard luck to the U-11 St Peters team who were beaten at the weekend. The U-13 girls play an away match this Thursday at 6.45pm. The U-14 St. Peters team play a home match (Clann Mhuire) this Saturday at 3.30pm, the U-15 St Peters team play a home match (Ballyboughal) this Sunday at 11.30am and the U-16 girls team have an away match on Sunday at 3.30pm.
It's championship time, with the Inters taking on Clanna Gael Fontenoy in Lawless Park (Fingallians) on Wednesday at 6.45pm. The Juniors travel to Marley Park to face Ballinteer St Johns on Sunday at 3pm - all support appreciated. The ladies built on their openingday victory in the league with a win over St Maur's to make it two from two. They play St Judes in Naul at 7.15pm on Wednesday. Congratulations to Adam and Cathal on their first-round championship win over Carlow with the Dublin Minors, and also to Carla, Grainne and Oonagh on their victory over Westmeath with the Dublin Ladies Minor team.

'Keep it in the Club' is a new initiative that has been launched by the club to promote members' businesses. Tickets for the renamed 'Celebration Night - Awards Night' on Sunday 6th May will be priced at 30 each. The Kay Twins band will perform, followed by a DJ after the meal and presentations. The last two weeks saw 370 participants in the club football and hurling camps. A big thank-you to Padraig,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Simon and their hard-working team for making this a great success. Simon will be running a Hurling Festival from 14th - 18th May. This will be for Under-7 - Under-13 teams. The adult ladies teams had two more mid-week league victories and both remain unbeaten. Both teams have big games on Wednesday in the league away from home,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the senior ladies against St Brigids and the Juniors against Clontarf, both at 7.15pm. A new range of Fingallians-branded training shorts is available in the club shop. A limited number of copies of the book 'A Rare Auld Season' signed by Paul Flynn are available in the shop for 10 - normal price in the shops 20. The next golf society outing is on Saturday 28th April in Corballis from 8.30 to 9.45am. A timesheet is now in the club bar. The parents and coaches of the academy (U6, U7 U will have a social night in the club bar next Saturday. This is a great opportunity for new members to attend and enjoy a great night. Well done to the ladies who successfully competed in the Great Ireland Run on Sunday in the Phoenix Park. The club have a recycling fundraiser until 29th April. Please donate all your unwanted clothes, bedlinen, towels textiles including shoes, bags belts and soft toys. Mobile phones will be accepted, but please keep them separate - no household bric-a-brac. Bags can be dropped off Saturdays from 10am - noon and week days from 7 - 9pm (at the club bar). Social football is on every Friday at 8pm on the Astro pitch and new players are welcome. The Under-13 girls lost out last weekend to Ballyboden St Endas; hard luck girls. The Cu Chulainn minors lost out by the narrowest of margins to Scoil Ui Chonaill, 2-9 to 28. Hard luck lads. The U-11 boys had a great win over St Peters on Saturday, 7-8 to 1-7. Well done all. Our monthly draw took place on Sunday night in Balrothery Inn,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and this month's winners are Marie Gerry Gaffney (1st prize) and Robert O'hara (2nd prize). Well done all and thanks to the fund-raising committee for organising it. Friday night saw the launch of our Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser take place in the Balrothery Inn. A brilliant night was had by all. Our 12 couples have been revealed and we now know who will be dancing with who in the big event on Bank Holiday Sunday May 6th. Get your tickets soon as they are selling fast. Thanks very much to everyone involved in organising the launch night and thanks to all of our dancers' sponsors who were represented by each dancer with sashes on the night. It was a hugely successful night and a great precursor to the main event. At present we are seeking parents who would be willing to help out with running the nursery in any role from coaching to administration/organising. This coming Saturday will see our club move into the 21st Century with the launch of our brand new website. This comes as a result of the commitment of the Executive Committee and especially the Website Committee members who have worked hard at gathering and compiling the information to build this new site. To mark the occasion we will welcome the Sam Maguire to the club and will have pictures with all teams from 4pm on the Astroturf pitch and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil our new dressing rooms at 6.15pm, followed by a friendly football and hurling match. The website will then be presented for all in the bar at 8.30pm. We look forward to seeing you all there and hope you enjoy the celebration of Round Towers Lusk. Adult training continues on Tuesday and Thursday this week at 7.30pm sharp. A full turnout from the entire panel is requested as we start the championship season on Sunday with a home tie against St Francis Gaels at 3pm. All support will be welcome on the day to support the team and new players are always welcome. If interested pop down to the club on Tuesday or Thursday at 7.30pm and speak to one of the mentors. Membership is now due and letters are being posted over the coming weeks. In addition forms are available from behind the bar in the clubhouse. The club lotto is held every Monday at 10pm and envelopes cost 2 per line, or 5 for three lines. Many thanks to everyone who supported our White Collar Boxing event last Friday. It was a huge success for the club and was made possible by a great Events Committee and a group of 28 brave boxers. Our Minor footballers had a great win on Sunday morning against Craobh Chiarain and particular mention must be given to our goalkeeper Sean Kavanagh, who made some crucial stops. Our Under-12s also had a win on Saturday and our Under-15 hurlers had a great win against Cuala during the week. The Intermediate Football Championship commences on Wednesday evening in Balgriffin at 6.45. The lads take on Garda in the first round, so please come out and give your support for this important fixture. Our Junior footballers have their firstround championship match against Parnells at home next Sunday at 11am. Another clothing collection will take place on Saturday 28th April to raise funds for the club. Please donate any clean unwanted clothes (in any condition). The Adult Committee Report pointed out the success of the club teams competing at this level, highlighted by the large number of players from the club who are currently playing at intercounty level and the promotion of the Senior footballers to Division 1 for the first time in the club's history. Well done to all who marched in the St Patrick's Day Parade and helped the club to win the Club of the Year award from the Rush Chamber of Commerce for their efforts. Our U-9s played away to St Oliver Plunketts in football on Saturday in what was a great display of skill and speed by both teams, where our team one won by five points with great outfield play by Evan Carty and our team two won by three points after a great effort by Aaron Magee in goal. The Under-10s played at home against O'dwyer's. The Maroon team took the lead early in the match and held onto it until the final minutes when O'dwyer's scored and won by just two points. Man of the match was awarded to Aaron O'reilly. The Gold team won by a very handsome margin and their man of the match was Conor Barry. Our U-12 footballers won against St Brigids at home after a great battling performance where they clocked up a score of 4-8 to 3-10.
Well done to our U-14 girls footballers who won away on Friday night to St Brigids where they clocked up a big score of 8-4 to 4-8. Maur's U-16 ladies footballers won away to Ballinteer St Johns by 10-7 to 3-2. Our adult ladies footballers lost out to Clann Mhuire away on Wednesday night.
Maur's adult hurlers lost out at home to Cuala on Tuesday night, but the Maur's/clan na Gael Minor footballers won against Fingallians 0-6 to 4-12 on Sunday. Numbers drawn in Sunday's club lotto were 13,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 14, 22, 24 and next weekend's jackpot will be 2,250. The Junior 9 hurlers scored 5-8 in their victory over Lucan Sarsfields. Hillary Murray Hession, Andrew Richardson, David Keogh and Alan Morris picked up National Hurling League Division 3 winners' medals with Fingal in a proud day for club and county. The ladies football team were goal-hungry with six of the best in their victory over Lucan.
At juvenile level the free-scoring Under-14 hurlers had 3-16 to Erins Isle's 5-7 for a well deserved victory. The Under-16 hurlers also put up a very impressive 5-14 in their victory over O'tooles. There were good wins in the league for the Ladies football and Junior hurling teams during the week. Next Sunday sees the Senior footballers entertain Raheny in the AFL 2 at 11am.
