Braves new uniforms give taste of the past,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The Atlanta Braves recently unveiled a new alternate jersey for the 2012 season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and it may look rather familiar to those who have followed the team for a number of years.
When the Milwaukee Braves packed up and moved to the South East for the 1966 season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the uniforms that the team wore were very similar to the new jerseys recently shown off by the team earlier this week.
One major difference in the old versus the new version of the uniform is the material it is made out of. The old Major League uniforms were a heavy wool material which could be difficult to maneuver in at times,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], especially on hot days.
The current Braves staff also seems to appreciate the change of pace the new design gives the team's wardrobe. "It's nice to keep things fresh,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Braves third baseman Chipper Jones. "I think everybody was excited a few years ago when we got the new blue uniforms that we wear on the road. The last few years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we've worn the red on the weekends. I think the guys really embrace any kind of subtle change,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], especially one this classy. "
The new jersey features the classic Braves logo,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], minus the tomahawk,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with darker trim and a crème background rather than the bright white that makes up the standard home uniforms.
The Braves will play their first home game on Friday April 13th,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but plan to stick with the alternate red jersey for that game. The fans will have to wait a little longer to see the new digs displayed on the field.
