Alice Madness Cosplay Construction As with all my con prep posts,[url=http://www.motorcyclejacketmall.com/topichtml/belstaff-pure-motorcycle-2013.html]belstaff pure motorcycle 2013[/url], I'm sorry if you're looking for some kind of tutorial. My ramblings are most likely not something that will help you with making your own cosplay. This is more of a documentation of my blunders,[url=http://www.belstaffjacket.org/topichtml/belstaff-hero-jacket.html]belstaff hero jacket[/url], trials, and errors as my style is more of a “winging it” kind of thing. I really only took an intro into sewing class where I learned expensive fancy machines make hemming more bearable. :)So my main cosplay this year will be Alice Madness Returns, the traditional blue dress.?I beat the game a few months ago and it was AMAZING! I loved the art and the dark twist on the story line, I was a fan of the original American McGee's Alice too.I already purchased boots,[url=http://www.motorcyclejacketmall.com/topichtml/long-way-down-motorcycle-jacket.html]long way down motorcycle jacket[/url], they aren't an exact match as they have a wedge heel and laces instead of buckles but I think they nicely capture the Alice essence.I also went to Party City and picked up a pair of thigh high striped stockings. Only $5!The first thing I did was take an old Halloween costume with a similar base dress design, pinned it in places so it fit me more accurately. Then I drew up some pretty rough pattern pieces for the top of the dress. Keep your fingers crossed they match up to make something usable!Cutting your new fabric for the first time is probably the scariest part of starting a new cosplay. All you can think of is that if you mess up this pristine fabric you might be making a new trip to the fabric store, almost doubling your costs. For a cosplayer on a budget that is horrifying. Lol, but you do it anyway and hope for the best.Total I cut 1 front panel, 2 front side panels, and 2 back panels.The next step will be hemming all of these pieces and then sewing them together into something that looks like the top of a dress.
