FRANKLIN,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Tenn. - Goodwill has partnered with Ann Taylor LOFT to generate business for both during these tough times.
"Not only are you cleaning out your closet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not only are you getting $15 off a pair of slacks, but by donating to Goodwill you really helping someone else find clothes at a great price,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Suzanne Kay-Pittman with Goodwill Industries,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], INC.
Pittman said Goodwill sales are up 10 percent, but donation volume is down.
"We really are seeing a great need for clothing donations," said Pittman.
Brentwood resident and shopper Jane Lee brought five pairs of old,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], donated pants and jeans.
"They like Ann Taylor pants; they Talbot They very high-end Eddie Bauer pants,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so they last a long time. They all machine washable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Lee.
Shoppers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ann Taylor LOFT and Goodwill all benefited from the donation drive.
"There are a lot of women out there looking for jobs who don have the necessary clothes. To me this is a great way to support those women,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Lee.
Shoppers including Pam Esberger embraced the idea,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and hoped more stores will do the same sort of event.
"If more places would do this. Hey,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if Dillard would say bring in a pair of shoes I don wear and you can get $15 - $20 off on a pair of shoes at Dillard I be there,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Esberger.
The Ann Taylor LOFT campaign runs until Sunday at the five LOFT locations in Middle Tennessee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
