CHICAGO, Oct. 14 () -- A man with muscular dystrophy completed the Bank of America Chicago Marathon early Monday, nearly 17 hours after he started.Maickel Melamed of Caracas crossed the finish line of the 26.2-mile race at about 1:30 a.m., surrounded by about 100 supporters, WMAQ-TV, Chicago, reported.Although he was the last of more than 39,000 participants to finish the race, Melamed was happy he completed it."My message is: If you dream it, make it happen.
