Moroccan frigate Hassan II repaired in Portugal by Arsenal do Alfeite
LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 11 () -- Portuguese shipbuilding and repair company Arsenal do Alfeite is repairing a second Moroccan navy ship as it aims for international business."This cooperation with Morocco is a very important step toward the diversification of markets that the Alfeite Arsenal was seeking, and now has achieved," Deputy Secretary of State for National Defense Berta Cabral said."The frigate Hassan II is the first warship of the navy of Morocco to be repaired in Alfeite, but it is in fact the second Moroccan ship, as they once had a replenishment ship in for repairs. The Alfeite dockyard is predominantly focused on supporting the Portuguese navy, but also has the ability to enhance its capacity and provide repair services to other navies."Arsenal do Alfeite is a publicly funded company.Cabral is reported to have made the comments following the signing of a letter of intent between Morocco and the company.
