Toms Shoes have grown to be well-liked by skaters,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], hipsters and hipsters wishing they were skaters,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], therefore it seems fitting that Toms would collaborate having a huge skate brand on a special edition type of shoes and boards.
The Toms and Element Skateboards line launches today with a collection of five types of shoes --three for women and two for males. Also,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Element has designed a Toms branded skateboard to push around on with what else? Toms shoes.
Element follows the Toms "one for one" rule -- for every skate deck or board bought,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Element can give a board off to a young child in need of some wheels.
These shoes in the collection are exciting and splashy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with stripes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], flowers and graphic prints. These shoes are $46. Skateboards retail for $150 for any complete long board and $50 for the smaller deck.

I stopped in to the Toms Shoes pop-up store in Venice on Friday to reconnect with the brand's founder Blake Mycoskie. I had been one of the first individuals to talk about him back in 2006. from Argentina,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], where he'd gone to relax,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], play polo and volunteer. Inspired by poverty in the united states by the traditional Argentine rope-soled canvas "alpargata" shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he'd made a business. The model? For each pair of Toms shoe bought from the states,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he'd donate some to some child in need in South usa or Africa.
Since that time, he's distributed a lot more than 200,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],000 pairs of shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], many on "shoe drops" in Ethiopia and Argentina. Next year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], his goal is to hand out 300,000 more. The shoes are available in a number of colors, prints and plaids (including glitter for that holidays) and are affordable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], at about $48 some. And also you can't help but feel good about buying them. Not too Mycoskie's making a profit - yet. That's for 2009.
Still,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I believe Mycoskie,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who endures a sailboat in the marina (how cool is the fact that?) and works in Santa Monica, is at the forefront of a new kind of conscientious consumerism. He never visited college but is really a natural-born entrepreneur who loves to discuss everyone from Richard Branson to Ralph Lauren,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with whom he recently collaborated on the limited edition line of Toms. And that he will pay for his employees,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], all 30 of these,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], to go on shoe drops with him all over the world -- so they believe in the merchandise as much as he is doing.
It is no surprise that former President Clinton became such a fan he invited Mycoskie to join his Global Initiative annual meeting in September - and gifted all of the world leaders who participated with a set of Toms shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!
