Have you ever wondered whats so great about Croc shoes besides the funky styles and cool colours,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]? Well I wanted to write this lens and tell that tale about the science behind the Croc's brand.
I have always been fascinated by design, technology and its stories,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it no different with Croc Inc, the company that makes Croc shoes. It was on a Caribbean sailing trip during May of 2002 that three friends from Boulder,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Colorado, George Boedecker, Jr, Scott Seamans and Lyndon "Duke" Hanson began dreaming of the perfect boating shoe. They wanted to develop a shoe that was functional, fashionable, fun and was slip-resistant and waterproof.
From that initial idea the Crocs Shoes brand was born, Crocs shoes are an innovative clog like designed pair of shoes made from a "Closed Cell Resin material" called Croslite which is NOT plastic NOR rubber. The Croslite material is closed-cell in nature meaning unlike regular foam or rubbers, it doesnt allows the absorption of moisture and sweat during contact with your skin encouraging microbes to grow which causes odours. With Croslite the closed cell resin prevents moisture being absorbed and therefore eliminating microbial growth, this anti-microbial property virtually eliminates odors. Ergonomics Council and the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). Crocs also developed the Rx line models (Croc Relief, Croc Cloud, and Croc Silver Cloud) specifically with healthy feet in mind. These models were designed to eliminate plantar pain and achy feet, as well as helping with diabetes by preventing sores and infections from occurring in the feet. Originally intended as a boating and outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant and non-marking sole however by 2003, Croc shoes had become such a success it was had been universally accepted as an all purpose shoe for comfort and fashion. This allow the brand to increase it styles and products offerings.
The Beach and Cayman styles currently are available in more than 20 colors and other styles are available in a palette of four to six colors or two-color combinations.
In June 2004, Crocs purchased Foam Creations a Canadian manufacture to secure exclusive rights to the "Croslite technology" .
In October 2006, they also purchased Jibbitz , a manufacturer of popular accessories that snap into the holes of Crocs shoes. Afterward Crocs continued to acquire various other companies in the footwear and fashion industry to increase its brand and product range.
Today, the Crocs brand and shoes are available all over the world and on the internet becoming more of a fashion statement.

Croc shoes are made from a patent protected material called "Croslite" , it is known as a Closed Cell Resin material which is NOT plastic NOR rubber.
